John Caragliano Obituary

John Joseph Caragliano died peacefully on March 15, 2024 after a short illness. Born in Hartford, CT he was the son of the late Anthony Caragliano and Concetta “Nettie” (Codraro) Caragliano. John was a cherished brother of Tom (Carolyn) of Medfield, MA.  He was a loving and generous Uncle to Anne (David) of Norfolk, MA, Tom (Avonelle) of Anguilla, BWI and John (Karen) of Norfolk, MA. He was the amazing great uncle to Anthony, Kyle, Dan, Rebecca, Tristan, Michael, and Cayson.  John will also be missed by many dear friends, especially Harry and Pat Josephson of Berlin, CT.

John was raised in New Britain, CT. He graduated from St Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain, CT and Hartford Accounting College (now University of Hartford). He was a loan officer at New Britain National Bank and then worked as auditor for the State of Connecticut.

John had many passions including golf, local card games and following local sport teams.  Affectionately know as Johnny C, he was truly a nice and gentle man.  Nobody he came across ever felt unwelcome.  He just made people feel good.  His card buddies are going to miss “The Banker” as he became to be known amongst that group.  The world was a better place with Johnny C in it.  He will be missed but never forgotten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, East Berlin.  Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to New Britain Food Pantry.
